Why this name is chosen “The Zagros are a long mountain range which cover Kurdistan–North–Bakur, South-Bashur, East–Rojava and West-Rojhalat. This range of mountains are home and shelter not just for the Kurds but for other ethnic groups and people including Persian, Armenian, Arabs and Turks who have lived there for a thousand years.

There are also a huge number of wonderful and amazing plants, trees, birds and animals. For this reason we want to use this name as a symbol of home and shelter, sharing and caring, unity and kindness, peace and integration, love and belonging and most importantly the resilience of the Kurds and other ethnic groups and beings who live in these mountains”.
